Health, WASH & Community Wellbeing
Integrated clinical outreach, pregnancy & antenatal care, safe drinking water systems, and dignified sanitation to protect vulnerable mothers and families.

In underserved rural districts and peri-urban settlements, community health, maternal safety, and environmental sanitation are inseparable. Contaminated groundwater, absent drainage, and a lack of private washrooms expose families to recurring bouts of typhoid, dysentery, and waterborne illness that deplete household savings and keep children away from school.
The burden falls heaviest on expectant mothers and young women, who face acute barriers to prenatal nutrition, antenatal check-ups, and menstrual hygiene in communities where public healthcare facilities are often a multi-hour journey rather than a local resource.
Our response.
ELF deploys mobile medical camps staffed by qualified physicians, offering direct diagnostic consultations, blood screenings, and free prescription medications directly within remote village clusters.
We support expectant mothers with Lady Health Visitor consultations, prenatal vitamins, iron supplements, nutrition guidance, and structured postnatal follow-up to ensure safe deliveries.
We engineer deep-bore water extraction points, solar-powered filtration stations, and hygienic school washrooms—pairing every infrastructure project with community-led hygiene and maternal health education.

The work, as it happens.

Pregnant Women Support: Saving Mothers & Newborns
In rural Pakistan and displaced communities where hospitals are hours away, pregnancy carries immense danger. Education And Life Foundation deploys certified Lady Health Visitors, clinical antenatal diagnostics, life-saving micronutrients, and safe birth delivery kits to ensure no mother faces childbirth in isolation.
Source: WHO, UNICEF & UNFPA Maternal Mortality Global Estimates
27 mothers and 675 newborns lose their lives every single day in Pakistan to preventable pregnancy and childbirth complications.
That is one mother dying every 50 minutes — claiming over 11,000 women each year. In remote districts and informal settlements, maternal mortality reaches twice the urban rate because expectant mothers lack basic antenatal screening, iron supplements to fight chronic anaemia, and emergency obstetric care.
Pakistan accounts for over 4.1% of the entire global burden of maternal mortality (WHO).
Severe micronutrient deficiency creating critical risk of fatal postpartum hemorrhage (NNS).
Rural mothers receiving zero or inadequate antenatal checks, leaving preeclampsia undetected (PDHS).
Lifetime risk of maternal death for Pakistani women, vs. 1 in 4,900 in high-income nations.
How ELF Protects Expectant Mothers
By bringing clinical care and trained female health workers directly to rural courtyards and field tents, we eliminate the distance and financial barriers that cost mothers their lives.
